This diet was born out of a desire to manage my weight throughout my lifetime instead of yo-yo dieting.  Understanding some basic knowledge about calories and the body, I began to keep track of how many calories I consumed throughout the day and to keep a daily calorie budget.  After doing some investigation and finding out that a well respected research organization, the National Academy of Sciences, had performed some research that supported the principles of this weight management approach, The Pen and Paper Diet
® was born.
